In the bottom of the 4th inning San Francisco scored 3 runs when they came up with 3 base hits. Buster Posey started the inning off right when he laced a base-knock. One out later, Dayan Viciedo was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Ryan Howard then doubled. Brandon Crawford came up and he was walked intentionally to load the bases. Bumgarner came up to bat and drew a walk. David Dejesus added to the outburst and doubled. San Francisco ended up with 10 hits for the game while Arizona had 5. The victory went to Bumgarner(15-12) who went 7 innings, allowing 1 run. The loss was charged to Jeff Samardzija(14-12). He allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Kazmir(11-7) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't give up much, just 2 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings. Atlanta threatened in the 9th but Philadelphia was able to put down the rally. Scott Atchison earned the save, his 4th. Jason Hammel(9-10) suffered the loss. He gave up 5 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. The Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 99-49. With an impressive recent record of 8-2, Atlanta hopes this will only be an isolated loss - followed by another nice run.
