Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Chicago (AL) was victorious in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Jose Reyes singled. After another out, Crawford stepped up to the plate and he delivered a one-base hit. Ichiro Suzuki then ripped a base-knock making Chicago (AL) victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. That was all the run support Wheeler required. Texas had 17 hits overall, while Houston had 10. Nick Martinez recorded the save, his 1st. Jarred Cosart(13-5) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. Miami had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Steve Cishek got the save, his 17th. Dillon Gee(8-7) absorbed the loss. He pitched 6 innings giving up only 2 hits and 1 walk. Miami's manager was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'

Karns(1-1) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Baltimore hitters. He gave up just 2 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 3.09. The right-handed Karns lost a no-hitter when Manny Machado homered with one out in the 8th inning. Tampa Bay finished with 11 hits in the victory. C.J. Wilson(10-9) suffered the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 6 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Wilson was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long night. Atlanta set the tone of the game in the first inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Anthony Rendon who brought the crowd to their feet when he doubled which was good for two runs. Atlanta rapped out 10 hits for the night. Matt Garza(14-7) got the win allowing 3 runs in 5 innings. Garza got relief help from Craig Kimbrel who gained credit for his 41st save. Liam Hendriks(2-3) was hit with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. Atlanta continued their winnings ways improving their record to 91-56. They are 9-1 in their last ten games. With the loss, the Toronto ballclub's record is 71-75.
