Miley(5-9) delivered a fine performance for Baltimore. He went 7 innings allowing 7 hits and 1 walk. Baltimore had 13 hits for the game and Atlanta had 9. Miley got help from Zach Britton who earned his 21st save. Charlie Morton(9-7) took the loss. Miley was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. After an out was recorded, Alex Rios stroked a base-hit. Freddy Galvis came to the plate and reached on an error. Tommy Medica then would ground out. Marcus Semien got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but Kansas City was able to put down the rally. The win went to Max Scherzer(10-8) who allowed 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Tommy Hunter earned the save, his 19th. Mike Leake(5-6) suffered the loss. Texas won the game with an offensive outburst in the bottom of the 9th inning as they erupted for 7 runs on 8 hits. The big moment was provided by Chase Headley who thrilled the crowd when he launched a three-run homer. Texas ended up with 16 hits for the game while New York (AL) had 11. The winning pitcher was Justin Grimm(3-5) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Chase Whitley(7-4) was the loser in relief. Sale got relief help from Jonathan Papelbon who gained credit for his 32nd save. Aaron Harang(11-9) was hit with the loss. Sale was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. After another out, Conor Gillaspie then ripped a one-base hit resulting in an exciting win for San Francisco and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.
