Peralta(5-11) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Arizona offense. He surrendered only 3 hits and no walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 4.24 to 3.98. Arizona threatened in the 9th but Milwaukee was able to put down the rally. Jeff Samardzija(9-9) took the loss. While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 11 batters in 7 and 1/3 innings. Arizona's manager was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks me off!'
