He saw his ERA jump from 3.25 to 3.73 as gave up 9 runs in 5 innings. With this win, Cincinnati has a 15-60 record. They have been 5-5 lately. After an out was recorded, Matt Holliday came to bat and lined a single, and an error was also committed. One out later, Kolten Wong then slapped a one-base hit. Dustin Ackley stepped in and he laced a single. St. Louis had a total of 9 hits for the game. Fernando Salas(1-1) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. After an out was recorded, Grant Green came to bat and banged out a single. Melky Cabrera then would hit into a force play. Minnesota had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Colorado had the winning rally in the top of the 8th inning with 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After two outs Corey Dickerson began the Colorado spurt when he drew a walk. Nolan Arenado was next and he slapped a single. Encarnacion then clubbed a three-run home run. San Francisco threatened in the 9th but Colorado was able to put down the rally. Tommy Kahnle(3-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Jonathan Papelbon preserved the game for Kahnle, recording his his 26th save. Shaw stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Gerardo Parra then doubled. Chris Owings followed, but he was set down on strikes. Arizona managed 8 hits in their victory. The highlight belonged to Giancarlo Stanton who made the crowd happy when he smashed a two-run homer. Pittsburgh had only 6 hits for the game. The Miami fans didn't appreciate the big day Martinez had. He stroked a base-hit in the 1st inning, emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 4th inning and singled in the 9th inning. Los Angeles(NL) banged out 15 hits on the afternoon. Iwakuma(6-3) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Dillon Gee(3-4) ended up with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. Iwakuma, when asked about his 11 strikeout performance noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
